The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) was established by an ACT of the National Assembly to coordinate, promote and facilitate the development of the micro, small, medium
enterprises in Nigeria

The Agency is hereby inviting applications from candidates suitable, qualified and competent for appointment into this position below:

CATEGORY A:

THE POSITION: DIRECTOR (GL 17) ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY AND INFRASTRUCTURE (ET&I)

JOB TITLE: Head (Engineering technology & Infrastructure Department)

REPORTING TO: Director General (SMEDAN)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Programme implementation in respect of bridging technological gaps of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs):
* Set objectives, goals, targets and plans for the department in line with the mandate of the Agency;
* Coordination of capacity building programme for entrepreneurs and sustainable skills acquisition and upgrading;
* Facilitation of access to Infrastructure (cluster/industrial park, etc)
* Linking of MSMEs to Research & Development results

* BASIC QUALIFICATION
Candidates must possess a good first degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours (Lower Division) in Engineering, Post graduate training in any of the following field will be an added advantage, Production Engineering, industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials/Metallurgical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Candidates must have a minimum of twenty (20) years post NYSC cognate working experience and appreciable /veritable experience in MSME development and / or related activities
* Candidate should have full (Corporate) membership of Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) for a minimum of fifteen (15) years and should registered by the Council for the Regulation of (COREN) for a minimum often (10) years.
* Must demonstrate understanding of the MSME sector.
* Candidates must not be above 50 years.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

* Candidates should have Trouble shooting skills, excellent project management skills, strong numerical and technical ability.
* Good analytical and presentation skills Understand the workings of relevant international Organizational and must be Computer literate.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

* The tenure for the position of Director is for a maximum of 8years in line with Federal Government Policy
* Successful candidates could be posted to any part of the Country.
* Remuneration is as obtained in the Federal Public Service.
